CA0315 Decorative pair of biscuit porcelain figural oil lamps after Boizot
A pair of early 19th century French Sèvres biscuit porcelain allegorical figural oil lamps after late 18th century designs by Louis-Simon Boizot (1743-1809). The figures 'Le Philosophe' and 'L'Etude' are portrayed seated in study atop a classical lamp mounted on later gilded wooden bases. A some point converted to electric and then converted back they are purely decorative pieces. Old repairs to figures and socle bases.
