CA0348 Grand Tour bronze Augustus Prima Porta on substantial Marble column
Good quality, Italian late 19th century Grand Tour patinated bronze library model of the Emperor Augustus of Prima Porta, after the antique original discovered in 1863 at the Villa of Livia and now housed in the in the Braccio Nuovo in the Vatican Museum in Rome. Finely detailed example presented on an associated Serpentina di Monteferrato marble classical column viewing base with carved vines and grapes. Italy, Rome, circa 1890.
