CA0351 Elegant pair of French Empire caryatid candlesticks

Fine and very elegant pair of early 19th century French Empire patinated and gilt bronze ormolu figural caryatid candlesticks. Classically inspired partially draped patinated Baccahnalian female figures supporting grapes and vine leaves topped by beaded lobed candle cups. Cylindrical pedestal bases with beaded and machined edging typical of the period. Very attractive examples. France, circa 1815.
