CA0342 Rare pair of English Regency Thomas Hope athenienne candlesticks

Beautiful and rare pair of early 19th century English Regency patinated and gilt bronze ormolu Athenienne candlesticks in the manner of Thomas Hope. Fine examples, conceived in the form of a Roman Athenniene tripod with round bead centres, pineapple finial and paw feet sitting on classic black marble circular bases. The original pattern for these candlesticks was introduced around 1800 at Hope's Duchess Street house. English, circa 1825.
