CA0352 Decorative pair of Louis XVI style gilt bronze reclining cupids on marble

Very decorative pair of Louis XVI style late 19th century French gilt bronze ormolu reclining cupids on carved white marble plinths with cushion supports. Both putti holding floral garlands and wearing floral crowns in the manner of Claude Michel Clodion (1738-1814). Enchanting pair probably remounted from a substantial clock from the Napoleon III period. France, circa 1880.
