CA0362 Grand Tour Drunken Satyr on alabaster base
Rare Italian late 19th century Grand Tour rich dark black bronzed patinated model of the Drunken Satyr or Drunken Faun reclining naked on a rock with a wine sack and lion skin, after the antique original excavated at the Villa dei Papiri in Herculaneum and now on permanent display in the National Archaeological Museum in Naples. Stepped base in brown and white alabaster with a carved architrave.
