CA0381 French Empire caryatid bronze candlesticks in the manner of Galle

A superb pair of early 19th century French Empire classically inspired caryatid gilt bronze candlesticks in the manner of Claude Galle (1757-1815). Circular bases decorated with classic empire stylised palmettes. Caryatid style footed tapered stem surmounted by three classical female Vestal type busts, shallow circular drip trays with a lobed exterior and candle cups decorated with more palmettes, very much in the style of Claude Galle. France, circa 1815.
