CA0437 Large Grand Tour Alabaster model of a classical Cupola

Rare large 19th century Italian Gand Tour alabaster model of a classical cupola or tempietto in the manner of the original example in the courtyard of the San Pietro church in Montorio in Rome. Of good size with six columns, balustraded domed roof with flame finial and a central carved representation of Spinario after the original in the Palazzo dei Conservatori, Capitoline Museum in Rome. Set upon a stepped circular plinth base. Interesting tasteful example. Old repairs to balustrade. Italy, circa 1890.
