CA0433 Very decorative French Empire Period Victory Garniture

A fine pair of early 19th century French Empire period patinated and gilt bronze ormolu figural mantle garniture. Super quality castings, beautifully patinated, kneeling winged allegorical figures of Victory holding aloft baskets of gilt bronze flowers and fruit. The figures sit on Rouge Griotte red marble blocks with gilt bronze applied mounts and bases. Minor old repairs. Probably adapted from a pair of candelabra but still marvellously rare, impressive and highly decorative. French, circa 1810.
