English Regency period boudoir clock
Stunning early 19th century Neoclassical English Regency ormolu gilt bronze and white marble mantel clock. Classic drum shaped movement set on a white marble stepped plinth base with a fine cast and chased floral swag mount set on four elegant machine turned toupee feet. Superb circular ormolu dial with swirling decoration and roman numerals. Very fine English heart shaped hands and a classically inspired designed bezel. 8 day single chain driven fusee movement signed 'Tupman Gt. Russell St't' for James Tupman who was based at 44 Great Russell Street, London. Tupman supplied movements for many of the best clockmakers in London at the time, including Baetens and Co. London, circa 1820.
