Grand Tour Temple of Hercules Victor on Siena Marble
Good quality example of a mid 19th century Grand Tour patinated bronze architectual model of The Temple of Hercules Victor (often incorrectly referred to as the Temple of Vesta) in Rome on a lovely Sienna marble base. A favourite of the Grand Tour these were often adapted as inkwells, like in this example with its original clear glass liner which are often missing. Rome, circa 1850.
