CA0507 Fine English Regency boudoir clock
Beautiful early 19th century Neoclassical English Regency ormolu gilt bronze and green marble drum boudior or bedroom clock. Typical drum shaped movement set on a marbre vert block base with wellcast and chased applied floral swag ormolu mount set on four elegant classic toupee feet. Superb circular ormolu dial with engine turned, swirling decoration and integral arabic numerals. Fine Breguet moon hands and a classically inspired design bezel. 8 day chain driven fusee movement. No makers signature but most probably by Baetens & Co based on the style and quality of the bronze work. English, probably Soho, London, circa 1830.
