Fine quality small Grand Tour Bronze of the Dancing Faun

Classic, very well cast and chased small to mid size italian Grand Tour patinated bronze of the Dancing Faun, after the antique. The original of this bronze was excavated at Pompeii in 1830 in what became known as the House of the Faun. The original bronze can now be seen in the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli. Italy, probably Naples, circa 1850.
