CA0521 Grand Tour bonze bust of a young Augustus

Fine quality late 19th century Grand Tour Italian patinated bronze bust of a young Octavian, Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus the first Emperor of Rome. (63 BC–AD 14) after the Roman original in the Gallery of the Busts, Pius-Clementine Museum, Vatican Museums. Another version can be seen at Chatsworth House. Integral patinated bronze socle inscribed 'Augusto'. Presented on an scholastic ebonised socle base. Italy, probably Rome, circa 1890.
