CA0549 Grand Tour Serpentine Model of the Arrotino
Late 19th century Grand Tour Green Serpentine marble statue of Arrotino, the Blade Sharpener, after the antique. The original statue is thought to be a figure from a Hellenistic-Roman group representing the Flaying of Marsyas and is now on display in the Tribuna of the Uffizi, Florence. Good example, loss to thumb. Italy, circa 1880.
