Small Grand Tour Spinario on Rosso Levanto marble base
Small 19th century Grand Tour patinated bronze of Spinario, the Boy with the Thorn, on a circular Rosso Levanto and black marble base after the original Greco-Roman Hellenistic sculpture in the Palazzo dei Conservatori, Capitoline Museum, Rome. Depicting a boy withdrawing a thorn from the sole of his foot it is often referred to as Fedele (Fedelino). Italy, Rome, circa 1880.
