Faience funerary amulet of Thoth
Fine, small ancient Egyptian faience funerary amulet of the Ibis headed god of learning and writing, Thoth the creator of languages, in typical walking pose. Superb greeny blue colour faience. These amulets were stitched into the funerary bindings of a mummified person via the suspension loop to the back cental pillar of the amulet. Acquired from a leading London dealer in 1990s. Late period 600-300BC.
