CA0550 Good size pair of bronze busts of Rousseau and Voltaire after Houdon

A good size and quality pair of 19th century French patinated bronze busts of the highly influential titans of the Enlightenment, the philosophers Jean-Jacques Rousseau and (François-Marie Arouet) Voltaire after the originals by Jean-Antoine Houdon (1744-1828). Signed Houdon fecit 1779 to the side of the Voltaire bust and small foundry stamp to the back of both. Well cast, nicely detailed pair of essential library busts.
