CA0610 Rare Pietra Paesena Marble Tazza

Beautiful neoclassical form tazza in very rare Piertra Paesena marble. This stone is often described as landscape marble but it is in fact a limestone in which micro-fractures result in layer slides that create the final ruiniform aspect. This much coveted stone when seen flat often suggests a landscape or an horizon. Unusual to see such a large item in this rare stone. Italy, possibly early 20th century.
