Rare Pair of Grand Tour Trajan and Marcus Aurelius Columns

A rare pair of early 19th century Grand Tour marmo negro marble models of the Roman triumphal Columns of Trajan and Marcus Aurelius. Incised spiral reliefs illustrating Trajan's victory in the Dacian wars and Marcus Aurelius's Danubian campaigns. Gilt Latin texts to the fronts on stepped pedestal bases. Surmounted by cast bronze figures, Trajan holding the orb and Marcus Aurelius holding his shield. Rare pair of good size. Rome, circa 1830.
