Late 19th Century Connemara marble and silver gilt casket

Rare and exquisite late 19th Century or earlier split pale green Connemara marble and silver gilt Irish snuff box or casket. Beautiful subtle light green panels in Connemara which is only found in in Galway in Ireland. Ornate filigree detailing to the sides. On four matching ball Connemara marble feet. Probably Irish but in the style of decorative caskets sold in France in the 19th Century, especially the Palais Royale in Paris, circa 1890.
