CA0686 Grand Tour alabaster Temple of Hercules Victor
A rare and beautiful little example of a Grand Tour architectual cabinet model of the Roman Temple of Hercules Victor in a honey coloured alabaster mounted on a white alabaster base. This temple located in the Piazza Bocca della Verita on the banks of the Tiber was mistaken for a Temple of Vesta due to its round construction throughout the 19th Century. Good condition. Rome, Italy, circa 1860.
