Substantial bronze model of L'Arc de Triomphe
Substantial fine quality 19th Century patinated bronze Grand Tour model of L'Arc de Triomphe in Paris. A superbly cast large example with wonderful detail in the manner of LeBlanc Frères. Presented on a Belgium black marble base complete with the surrounding bronze bollards. A highlight stop for individuals on the Grand Tour the actual arch was built to commemorate French soldiers that had died in the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars and was finally completed in 1836 under the rule of Louis Phillipe. French, circa 1850.
