Louis XVI style Athenienne candlesticks

Elegant pair of late 19th Century Louis XVI style bronze candlesticks in the form of ancient Atheniennes. Classic amphora style candle cups within a three legged brazier type stand, after the antique. Decorated with a mix of classical and rococo design elements typical of the late 18th Century. Sitting on a base formed as a victor's laurels. France, circa 1890.
