Pair of Grand Tour bronze Furietti centaurs
Pair of good quality early 20th Century Grand Tour patinated bronze Furietti Centaurs in the manner of the Chiurazzi foundry in Naples. After the antique originals discovered and excavated at Hadrian's Villa in 1736 by Monsignor Furietti and now on permanent display in the Musei Capitolini, Rome. Well modelled and cast at a good display size. Good, even dark brown patina presented on original, seperate but integral, bases. Italy, Naples, circa 1920.
