CA0736 Rare Grand Tour bronze Phocas column

Very rare good size 19th Century Grand Tour patinated bronze reduction of the monumental column of Phocas in the Forum Romanum in Rome. These column models are rarely seen in bronze at this size. Beautifully detailed model with a reeded column surmounted by a classical figure standing on a nicely detailed Roman capital. The column sits on block base engraved 'Colonna Foca' which in turn sits on a stepped base. Italy, Rome, second half of 19th Century.
