Fine pair of French Empire ormolu gilt bronze cassolettes

Fine pair of early 19th Century French Empire ormolu gilt bronze classic style Medici urn shaped cassolettes. Beautifully cast and chased with typical Empire period designs topped with decoratively pierced reversable lids with acorn finials for use as candlesticks or pot-pourri. Sitting on a fine machine turned column with a square block base. France, circa 1815.
