Unusual early 19th Century Neoclassical desk tidy

Fine quality, early 19th Century neoclassical patinated and ormolu gilt bronze desk tidy of unusual grotto like scallop, almost marine, floral form. Beautifully cast with deep chasing and lovely patination. Presented on its original Verde Antico base. French, Late Empire / Charles X period, circa 1830.
