Fine Pair of French Empire 'Retour d'Egypte' Candlesticks in the manner of Claude Galle

A fine pair of early 19th Century French Empire 'Retour d'Egypte' gilt and patinated bronze ormolu candlesticks in the manner of Claude Galle (1757-1815). Circular bases decorated with classic empire stylised palmettes. Caryatid style footed tapered stem surmounted by three Egyptian busts and candle cups decorated with more palmettes, very much in the style of Claude Galle, stunning. France, circa 1805.
