CA0747 Pair of French Empire Classical Putti Candlesticks

Delightful pair of early 19th Century gilt bronze French Empire style figural candlesticks in the form of a classical putti holding aloft an urn. Beautifully cast with classic Empire period machine turned designs to the bobeches and column bases. Probably Charles X/Louis Philippe period they have been adapted later for electricity on the candle cup and plate base. The putti figures were once silver gilt. France, circa 1840.
