French Empire Campaign Inkwell Amore at the Altar of a Fallen Warrior
Fine quality early 19th Century French Empire period gilt and patinated bronze campaign or travelling encrier inkwell. Modelled with Amore kneeling in prayer by the altar of a fallen warrior surmounted by a gilt bronze classical helmet and sword. Beautifully done probably Palais Royale, circa 1810-15.
