Substantial French Empire Figural Encrier

Substantial, fine quality 19th Century French Empire Marmo Verde Antico and ormolu gilt bronze figural encrier or inkwell. Superb central winged goddess of victory seated on a classical style klismos chair leaning over a burning altar. The nude figure flanked either side by classical urn inkwells. Marble base with a carved recessed pen tray, pierced gallery set on four ormolu paw feet. Beautiful example. French, mid 19th Century.
