CA0847 Rare Grand Tour Bronze Model of the Temple of Sibyl at Tivoli

Rare, early 19th century Grand Tour patinated bronze model of the Temple of the Tiburtine Sibyl at Hadrian's Villa at Tivoli, just outside Rome. Sometimes referred to as the Temple of Vesta at Tivoli the original is a 1st Century B.C. structure perched on the edge of a precipice above the cascades of the river Aniene. Nicley detailed example presented on a circular Siena marble base. Italy, probably Rome, circa 1830.
