Grand Tour Memento Mori Specimen Marble Paperweight

Interesting late 19th Century Italian Grand Tour specimen marble Memento Mori paperweight in the form of a skull on a book. Very attractive and well executed model of a skull in marmo rosso. The book is made from rosso levanto marble with a cipollino verde and siena marble spine. Italy, circa 1860.
