Dancing Bacchante French Empire Miniature Timepiece Clock
Rare and delightful French Empire miniature timepiece clock depicting a Dancing Bacchante or Maenad with flowing robes and castanets. The movement is housed in a tamborine hanging from a finial tipped pole and there is a wine ewer and cup at her feet. White porcelain face. Timepiece watch movement signed ‘Naudin à Tours’. Armand Naudin is recorded in Tardy working in Tours in 1785 before moving to Paris. Circa 1800.
