French Empire Patinated Diana and Endymion Candlesticks

A superb pair of early 19th Century French Empire period patinated bronze figural candlesticks depicting the goddess Diana and her lover the beautiful young shepherd Endymion from Greek and Roman mythology. Beautifully cast and chased, lovely deep patination. A rare, seldom seen, pair. France, circa 1810.
