Striking and substantial pair of early 19th century patinated bronze and Siena marble library busts of the famous late 18th century, highly influential, french philosophers Jean-Jacques Rousseau and (François-Marie Arouet) Voltaire. Of good size, well cast and chased, dark brown almost black patination. Presented on integral bronze socles and stepped plinth Siena marble bases. France, circa 1825.
