CA0924 Grand Tour Painting of the Doge's Palace, Venice
Interesting early to mid 20th century Grand Tour oil on panel painting of a view across the San Marco Basin to the Piazzetta with the Doge's Palace, the Biblioteca, St Theodore and the Lion of Venice columns, the Ponte della Paglia through to the Campinile and St Mark's Basilica. On the reverse are two labels from Aldridge Bros Art Dealers, The Little Gallery, Warwick Street, Worthing. Fine art dealers Aldridge was opened in 1876 by the marine artist Frederick Aldridge (1850-1933). 'The Little Gallery' was established by his sons in 1905. Nicely executed painting with good detail. Very Italian in style probably late Grand Tour. Signed bottom right corner. Modern frame.
