CA0913 Napoleonic AnXI Versailles Infantry Briquet
Rare example of a Napoleonic French Empire period Versaille Arsenal AnXI Infantry Briquet Side Arm and Scabbard. Profusely stamped: the quillon and knucklebow are stamped with the poincon of Jacquesson, Director at Versailles from October 1809 to February 1812. The Knucklebow is also stamped 'Versailles' and has the script B in an oval pioncon of Nicolas Boutet. FV stamp, 'Verifie', associated with weapons made at Versailles for the Imperial Guard. Blade stamped B and L for Bick and Lobstein a partial P and A for Pache and Alpy which dates the sword to January to March 1812. Brass mounted leather scabbard with rack number 1970. All in all a marvelous piece of Napoleonic history.
