CA0918 Pair of gilded Grand Tour oil lamps, after the antique

A rare and complete pair of gilt bronze Neapolitan Grand Tour oil lamps. Probably after the antique roman originals found at Pompeii and Herculanium. Two styles, one with three lions with entwined tails and other with winged sphinxes. Ivy wrapped stems with ram's head and owl finials surmounted by classic Roman two branch oil lamps with fan backs. Full set of three hanging tools. Italian, circa 1880.
