Dieppe Ivory Statue of Rousseau under Glass

Late 18th / early 19th century fine quality Dieppe ivory model of the highly influential french philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau. Beautifully detailed carving mounted on a turned ivory and mahogany socle. Housed in a later period glass dome with a mahogany base. France, circa 1800.
