Rare Pair of French Empire 'Retour d'Egypte' Busts

Impressive and rare pair of early 19th Century French Empire ‘Retour d’Egypte’ library busts. Iconic patinated pharaonic bronze heads mounted on substantial beautifully figured stepped ‘Breche de Bohème' marble plinths with a typical patinated bronze foliate design architrave. Classical gilt bronze ormolu laurel wreaths to front. A rare pair, of good size, not often seen.
