Grand Tour Alabaster Model of the Colosseum

A very rare 19th century Grand Tour alabaster cabinet size architectural model of the Colosseum in Rome. Carved in rich, beautiful yellow and orange coloured alabaster. Mounted on a mottled grey alabaster base. A good detailed example of the paramount archaeological building in the Roman Forum. Rome, circa 1870.
