CA0915 French Empire Mantel Clock by Leroy
Early 19th Century French Empire period patinated and gilt bronze ormolu figural mantel clock. The case surmounted by a figure of the Roman godess of the harvest, Ceres, with her hand raised above an overflowing bowl of fruit and flowers. To the side a classical lyre and a staff with grapes and vegetation wound around it. Finely chased ormolu mount to the front. Sits on block feet with typical classical designs. White enamel face with Breguet style hands. 8 day silk suspension movement, stamped 'Leroy à Paris'. Circa 1830.
