Fine pair of mid 19th century Grand Tour patinated cabinet bronzes depicting the classical warriors Romulus and Titus Tatius after Jaques-Louis David’s ‘The Intervention of the Sabine Women’ painted in 1799. Fine quality, detailed casting and defined chasing, superb rich deep brown patination, slightly larger than usual. Presented on rare red marble slab bases. France, circa 1850.
