English Naval Dirk

Good example of a late 18th/early 19th Century English Naval Superior Officer Dirk from the Napoleonic wars period. Trafalgar period. Gilt bronze chased and etched floral designs to scabbard, signed 'Read Portsmouth'. Lovely, mellow turned handle. Etched blade. Repair to base of scabbard. English circa 1800.
