CA0964 Pair of statues of Rousseau and Voltaire in patinated bronze on Verdi marble plinths
A fine pair of large size, early 19th century full length patinated library bronzes of the famous late 18th century, highly influential, french philosophers Jean-Jacques Rousseau and (François-Marie Arouet) Voltaire, after the originals by Jean-Claude Rosset. Beautifully detailed in resplendent 18th century costume set upon 'marbre vert maurin' and patinated bronze bases. French circa 1830.
