CA0980 Pair of Grand Tour Neo Pompeian Bronze Oil Lamp Stands

A quirky 19th century pair of Neapolitan Grand Tour bronze oil lamps, after the antique. Based on roman originals and complete with hanging oil lamps, nocturnal animals and tools. The tree stands with oak leaves surmounted by birds, the whole raised on trilegged bases of frogs and stylised athanctus leaves. Complete with oil lamp lids in form of a mouse and a fish with original tweezers and wick cutting tools. Naples, Italy circa 1860.
