Triton and Nereid Statuettes

Very interesting pair of 18th Century gilt bronze statuettes of Triton and Nereid in the the manner of examples by Bernini. Possibly from an early clock or centerpiece, they have mounting holes in the back (pictures supplied on request). Nereid carries Trton's twisted conch shell, the source of his power. Mounted on later ealy 19th century patinated bronze bases mounted with Triton masks and crossed trident motifs.
