CA1109 Grand Tour Neapolitan Bronze of the 'Amore con Delfino'

Rare and beautiful 19th Century Neapolitan Grand Tour bronze of the 'Amore con Delfino', Cupid with Dolphin, after the antique. Good large size version in 'archaeological verdi gris Pompean patination' after the original fountain excavated at the Thermae (baths) in Pompeii, now onview in the National Archaeological Museum in Naples. Cupid, the god of love, is often associated with dolphins as an allegory for how swiftly love moves on. Italy, circa 1880.
